This is a Rectify Series drop-in speaker system for Kato SD40 and SD45 locomotives. More than just a box, the enclosure features Diapasonic Tuning™, which allows the lower frequencies to accurately develop and resonate, clears the midrange of excess resonance and tunes the upper-mid/high response. The speaker uses double-sided mounting tape or a touch of adhesive to mount to the frame. It features a slot to fit a 3mm LED for the rear headlight. Simply trim the stock lightpipe clean to the number boards and secure the LED to the speaker system's slot. It will position the LED perfectly behind the number board/headlight. Trim the two lightpipe nubs in the roof flush. It also features integral rings to route the truck-wires through, keeping them clear of the drive-shaft.
An optional front-mount speaker can be added behind the cab using a UFIT-9325 if using a Decoder Buddy or hard-wired decoder.
The speakers come fully assembled and tested.
