This is a Rectify Series drop-in speaker system for Athearn Genesis F-Units that come with factory Soundtraxx or are sound-ready. This speaker fits past models that came with the round speaker (first photo) and current-run models that come with the rectangular dual-cube speaker (second photo). If you have the current-run "dual-cube" version and would like a screw-in replacement, my Athearn Genesis Veranda Turbine AHGS-VERF "front-mount" speaker will fit (though at the expense of some fullness of sound compared to this AHGS-F701 speaker).
More than just a box, the enclosure features Diapasonic Tuning™, which allows the lower frequencies to accurately develop and resonate, clears the midrange of excess resonance and tunes the upper-mid/high response. A touch of adhesive secures the system. No modifications are needed to replace the factory speaker.
If you're using a short motherboard such as the Nix Trainz Decoder Buddy, or installing a hard-wired decoder, there is room to add the front-mounted AHGS-ACAB-RC1 speaker (third photo). If using a PCB-style decoder such as a PNP or Direct, there will not be room for the ACAB speaker.
The speaker comes fully assembled and tested.
